Working Principle:
Vortex flow meters are volumetric flow meters designed to measure the volumetric flow rate, standard volumetric flow rate, or mass flow rate of gases, steam, or liquids based on the Karman vortex street principle. Stress-type vortex flow meters are a type of velocity-type flow meter widely used in petroleum, chemical, power, light industry, and power heating sectors.
Measurable Media:
Vortex flow meters offer a broad range of media measurement capabilities, primarily suited for gases, liquids, and steam. They meet the requirements of most industrial applications, specifically:
Gases: Accurately measures dry, clean, single-phase gases including compressed air, atmospheric air, natural gas, coal gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, inert gases like argon and helium, as well as industrial mixed gases (free of significant dust, oil contamination, or corrosive components). Suitable for gas transmission metering in chemical, metallurgical, and power industries.
Liquid: Suitable for non-strongly corrosive, low-viscosity single-phase liquids such as tap water, river water, cooling water, diesel, gasoline, kerosene, lubricating oil, ethylene glycol, and methanol. Widely used for liquid flow monitoring in petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and water treatment sectors. Avoid measuring liquids containing large amounts of impurities, fibers, or high viscosity (e.g., heavy oil).
Steam Type: A common instrument for measuring steam, compatible with saturated and superheated steam. It withstands high-temperature and high-pressure conditions (some models withstand temperatures up to 350°C+). Suitable for steam energy consumption measurement in power generation, textiles, printing and dyeing, papermaking, and other industries. Some models support temperature and pressure compensation to ensure measurement accuracy for high-parameter steam.
Note: The medium must meet the requirements of “single-phase, clean, and non-strongly corrosive.” For media containing strong acids or alkalis, specialized materials (e.g., 316L + PTFE lining) must be customized to prevent sensor damage that could affect measurement accuracy.

• Wide range of applicable pipe diameters: DN20 to DN300;
